Già da un po’ di tempo se ne parla, ma questa potrebbe essere la volta buona: OnePlus dovrebbe introdurre la modalità Always On Display a bordo di OxygenOS con un futuro aggiornamento. A confermare il tutto è direttamente la casa cinese sui social network e sul forum ufficiale.
Always On Display su OnePlus OxygenOS
OnePlus ha confermato di essere al lavoro sulla modalità Always On Display per i suoi smartphone con OxygenOS. Come ha dimostrato l’iniziativa dell’azienda, quasi “travolta” dalla medesima richiesta, si tratta di una delle funzionalità più bramate dagli utenti (che si sono ingegnati con soluzioni alternative). Già con l’uscita di OnePlus 6T si era parlato di Always On Display, ma i potenziali problemi con l’autonomia hanno fatto mette in disparte la funzione.
I test iniziali avevano influito negativamente sulla durata della batteria anche di OnePlus 7 Pro, con un’autonomia ridotta in media di un paio d’ore. In un post di Gary C. dello staff di OnePlus possiamo infatti leggere:
“we ran some tests on the viability of this feature and found out that AOD could roughly consume about 350-500 mAh of the battery, which means you might get one or two hours deducted from your daily usage. Such a battery drainage issue will have a notorious impact on digital natives. This could lead to substandard performances, which makes us more careful about this decision.“
La funzione sembra aver superato i più recenti test, come confermato in un aggiornamento al post dello stesso membro dello staff sui forum ufficiali della casa:
“Hi everyone, an update on this IDEA. Initial power consumption tests have been passed and it is now on our roadmap! We are working on fine-tuning AOD to make sure it is perfectly optimized. Do keep an eye on our Community as we will keep everyone in the loop with further updates, including the release timeline. Thanks!“
Non è ancora chiaro quali smartphone OnePlus riceveranno l’Always On Display, visto che ormai tutti i modelli relativamente recenti dispongono di display AMOLED. Probabilmente si partirà dagli ultimi arrivati, OnePlus 7T e OnePlus 7T Pro, con una fase beta, oppure ci sarà un debutto sui prossimi OnePlus 8 e OnePlus 8 Pro, chissà.
