Skype si aggiorna e introduce il supporto per la condivisione di file di grandi dimensioni. Il limite massimo per documenti, foto e video è stato fissato a 300 megabyte.

Microsoft, dopo una attenta fase di test, ha rilasciato in questi giorni un aggiornamento di Skype, la propria piattaforma di messaggistica istantanea e chiamate VoIP (Voice over IP): la principale novità riguarda la dimensione massima dei file che si possono condividere, la quale viene impostata a 300 megabyte.

L’azienda di Redmond ha dichiarato quanto segue:

Over the last few weeks we’ve tested a number of different file size limits for file sharing. Based on the results of these tests, we are setting a limit of 300MB per file as this accommodates almost all the file sizes shared over Skype, and has been working well for our millions of users since it started rolling out several weeks ago.

Durante le ultime settimane abbiamo testato una serie di differenti limiti per le dimensioni dei file condivisi. Basandoci sui risultati di queste prove, abbiamo deciso di impostare un massimo di 300 MB per file, visto che questa misura comprende quasi tutti i file condivisi su Skype, ed ha fornito riscontri positivi per i milioni di utenti che la usano da quando è iniziato il rollout diverse settimane fa.
