Ciò che è nuovo ora è vecchio domani, ciò che è vecchio domani è nuovo ora. Tuttavia non sembra che il SoC nVIDIA Tegra 2 si meriti già l’appellativo di “vecchio”, visto che nonostante l’avvento delle nuove soluzioni quad core è ancora più che in grado di dire la sua nel panorama mobile. Tuttavia l’impiego di questo SoC è passato da nomi blasonati come ASUS Eee Pad Transformer e Acer Iconia A500 a tablet ben meno costosi e, soprattutto, provenienti da società non sempre note come le grandi dell’industria. È questo il caso specifico di Leader International, il cui sito web fa trasparire prodotti in linea con i tablet di fascia molto bassa, il più delle volte di fabbricazione e distribuzione cinese.

Sembra tuttavia che il rilascio di Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich e l’evoluzione del mercato abbiano permesso anche a società piccole ed attive nella produzione di dispositivi di fascia bassa di fare un balzo qualitativo e di proporre soluzioni al passo coi tempi: Leader International ha infatti annunciato al CES i propri tablet Impression 10A e Impression 7A, dal costo rispettivamente di 299$ e 179$. Entrambi equipaggiati con la quarta iterazione del sistema operativo del robottino verde, presentano un display IPS da 9,7 pollici e processore nVIDIA Tegra 2 nel caso dell’Impression 10A ed un processore non meglio specificato operante ad 1GHz nel caso del tablet più piccolo.


Stando alle parole del produttore, i tablet saranno disponibili presso i “maggiori rivenditori” entro la fine del trimestre in corso.

The I10A features 2.0MP front and back cameras and includes the Fring videoconference app.

The I7A features a 1Ghz processor and 512MB RAM, and runs Android 4.0 with Adobe Flash 10.3. The tablet’s seven-inch capacitive WSVGA display offers a 178-degree viewing angle and delivers 1024×600 resolution. Other features include a micro SD card slot with 16GB capacity and a mini HDMI port.
