ASUS annuncia ufficialmente Transformer Prime con caratteristiche e prezzo

ASUS ha annunciato in via ufficiale il suo prossimo tablet della gamma Eee Pad – il già blasonato Transformer Prime. Evoluzione del famoso Eee Pad Transformer, campione di vendite e noto presso il pubblico per la qualità hardware e software offerta da ASUS, il Transformer Prime è il primo tablet ad essere venduto con il sistema operativo Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich con un hardware aggiornato e migliore in ogni aspetto se confrontato con la precedente generazione.

Tra le caratteristiche hardware salienti troviamo uno schermo Super IPS da 10.1 pollici con risoluzione 1280×800 protetto da Gorilla Glass, processore quad core nVIDIA Tegra 3, 1GB di RAM, 32 o 64GB di memoria di archiviazione interna, fotocamere da 8 megapixel (posteriore) e 1.2 megapixel (posteriore) con flash LED e in grado di registrare video in Full HD (1080p), accompagnati da slot microSD, connettore microHDMI, USB2.0 (disponibile sulla tastiera dock) e connettori audio. Lo spessore del solo tablet, esclusa la tastiera, è limitato in soli 8.3mm con un peso di 586g. Il tablet sarà disponibile nei colori “grigio ametista” (“Amethyst Gray”) e “oro champagne” (“Champagne Gold”), mentre il prezzo sarà di 500$ (circa 370€) per la versione con 32GB di memoria interna e di 600$ (circa 445€) per la versione con 64GB di spazio di archiviazione. La tastiera dock sarà acquistabile separatamente per 150$ (circa 110€).

Anche se per il lancio del dispositivo è prevista l’adozione del sistema operativo Android 3.2 Honeycomb, secondo i piani ufficiali l’aggiornamento ad Ice Cream Sandwich dovrebbe avvenire nel corso di Dicembre. Tra i software preinstallati da ASUS vale la pena citare i software per la produttività SuperNote e Polaris Office.
