I primi firmware Android modificati per HTC Tattoo stanno iniziando a venir rilasciati da XDA-Developers e oggi vi voglio parlare del firmware Fyodor v0.2, uno degli unici che porta sostanziose modifiche rispetto al firmware originale.
Le features della Fyodor sono:
- rewrite backup/restore scripts for mainfram3’s recovery image.
usage: backup.sh[restore.sh] boot[system, userdata] - save system partition space(/system/app symlinked to /data/app_s, /system/framework symlinked to /data/framework_s).
- delete all htc Widgets, youtube, twitter(for GFW reason), footprint, and Sense UI.
- boot image repacked with all partitions writable, based on mf3’s boot image, no tattoo-hack.to attached.
- format /system, /data, and boot partitions(so, you must backup all apps and config files)
v0.2 Changelog:
- restore SenseUI.
- add nano text editor.
- add terminfo for nano UI displayed properly.
- add scp command.
- busybox symlinked to /system/xbin/* (200+ command linked).
- replace default wifi config file: tiwlan.ini. (keep connecting with sharp speed, disable powersave mode by default)
- auto-install tattoo-hack.ko module.
- patch the market program to display all apps. (Thanks to moneytwo, here it the link)
- formatting /data partition has been canceled in updater-script. (but wiping /data partition in recovery mode is strongly recommended)

L’autore della ROM consiglio di flashare questa nuova recovery: recovery.alfa.img che ha modificato lui stesso riscrivendo i file per il restore e per il backup, quindi è consigliato flasharla ;). Per installare la rom basta poi scaricarla, metterla nella sd, andare in recovery (fare un backup) e poi fare apply to update.zip.
