Eclair su HTC Dream o non Eclair su HTC Dream? Questa la domanda che si ci poneva da quando venne messo in commercio il Motorola Milestone con Android 2.0.
Arriva la conferma del: si Android Eclair è possibile anche su HTC Dream; arriva da alcuni programmatori del forum di supporto di HTC, XDA-Forum, che stanno rilasciando le prime Rom.
Ho testato già ieri sera la prima e fra poco proverò la 3°… Ovviamente realizzerò un video tutto per voi dove potrete vedere in anteprima la cosa. Come funziona? Direi discretamente, per ora non sono rom ottimizzate quindi un pò di lentezza c’è ma sono sicuro che in futuro, soprattutto grazie a Cyanogen, arriverà qualcosa di veramente stabile e completamente funzionante.
Ecco un elenco delle funzioni nuove oltre ad essere un rom base:
– Used enmother’s kernel (2.6.29) and wlan.ko and modified init.rc to call expinit (I really can’t think of anything to call the scripts I use, so I go with his naming conventions)
– Clocked automatically to 528 MHz
– 5 screens Launcher. No auto-rotate because the accelerometer still doesn’t work. Also, 5 app drawer icons in portrait and 6 in landscape, also, it’s got my custom icon and widget layout (trying to figure out how to put music and power widget by default in there)
– Added wallpapers to launcher in mdpi that are only available on hdpi, same thing for app icons and a few other visuals
– SlideME App Market
– Superuser app
– Wifi Tether
– (new)Youtube (high quality doesn’t work though, missing decoders)
– (new)Google Maps (with street view)
